Buying the Moose Review

"Buying the Moose" by London playwright Michael G. Wilmot is about a hilarious encounter gone wrong, an ingenious snapshot into the lives of a sometimes dysfunctional couple too proud, or too shocked, in the end, to say I'm sorry. There is always two sides for every story, and guest director Matt Gorman managed to deliver both versions in perfect harmony, making this comedy a most enjoyable, entertaining, overnight success.

Packed with outrageous one-liners that kept the audience busy laughing, and stellar performances by Darryl Pring (Rob), who wasn't doing anything wrong, Caitlin Driscoll (Betty), who is quick to jump to conclusions, Meredith Zwicker (Cheryl), a woman that will listen, and pour the wine, and Marty Burt (Greg), the brother who came to help, and drink beer. This show as an example, will prove beyond a shadow of doubt that the weaker sex still has, and always will, have control in any relationship.

Joshua Quinlan did an outstanding job on producing a truly distinctive set design for this production. Credit goes to Karen Crichton for the lighting design, Bradley Dunn as stage manager, Grace Battan as assistant stage manager, and a special thanks goes out to Port Stanley's Russell House as show sponsor.

"Buying the Moose" runs from July 5th to July 22nd, 2017, and it's the show that you will want to remember the next time you find your partner in an awkward position!
