Shedden Wins 61 Over Boxall, Blues Win 75 Over Maroons, Pirates Win 1510 Over Sailors

The eighteenth set of games of the 2018 Port Stanley Senior Softball season were held Wednesday, August, 15th, 2018 in partly sunny skies with temperatures rising to 30 degrees Celsius. The UV index was at 8 or very high and the Humidex was at 37.

In Game 1 it was fairly even until the third inning when Boxall was first to get on the scoreboard with a single and it's only run of the game, while Shedden sent three around the bases in the fourth to take the lead. Shedden managed to add another two runs in the sixth, and ended with another run in the eighth to win the game with a final score of Shedden 6 - Boxall 1.

In Game 2 the Blues had a strong showing in the first by sending five players around the bases to take the lead, while the Maroons trailed behind with just a single run. The Maroons came back in the fourth with two runs, and added another single run in the fifth, but still needed one more run to tie. The seven inning favoured the Blues by extending their lead by another two runs for a total of seven, while the Maroons continued their efforts to turn the game around but came up shy with only a single run in the eighth giving the win to the Blues with a final score of Blues 7 - Maroons 5.

In Game 3 both the Pirates and the Sailors managed single runs in the first inning to tie the game, while in the second the Pirates gained a slight lead with three runs versus only two for the Sailors. The Pirates extended their lead with another three runs in the third, and just a single run in the fifth to pause at 8-3. The seven inning was busy for both teams with the Pirates adding four to their lead while the Sailors played catch-up by sending five around the bases keeping the Pirates in the lead by 12-8 with two innings to go. The eighth inning favoured the Pirates adding three to their lead, while the Sailors still trying came up short with two runs in the ninth giving the win to the Pirates with a final score of Pirates 15 - Sailors 10.
