Shedden And Sailors Tie For First Place

This Wednesday's game's brought a Heat Warning, a mix of sun and cloud, High 31, Humidex 39, UV index 8, for the Port Stanley Senior Softball Players 20th games of the 2016 Senior Softball series season final. Even with today's Heat Warning, players still managed to show off their competitive good will, sportsmanship, and talent to make this day, a day to remember, until next year!

In Game 1 the Pirates got off to a early lead in the first with two, and added one more in the third, while the Blues got off to a slow start and managed one in the third. The Pirates picked up another one in the fourth, and two more in the eighth. The Blues meanwhile were trying a comeback with three in the eighth, but couldn't keep it going long enough to catch the Pirates, who took the win with a score of Pirates 6 - Blues 4

In Game 2 the Maroons were playing well and took the early lead in the first with five runs, while Boxall managed two, and added one in the second. The Maroons also added one in the second, and one in the third, to have the lead with seven. But the third proved that this game was on a different course when Boxall cameback with five runs in the third to take the lead with eight. In the fourth the Maroons took back the lead with two, and added one more in the sixth, to lead with ten, while Boxall brought in one, to close in with nine. In the seventh inning, the lead changed again, when Boxall added three, to lead with twelve, and held on to take the win, with a score of Boxall 12 - Maroons 10

In Game 3 Shedden took the early lead in the first with three runs, while the Sailors started with one in the first, added one more in the second, to trail with two. Shedden on the other hand, brought home another three in the fourth, and one in the sixth, to lead with seven. The Sailors, meanwhile, picked up two in the sixth, but still trailing with four, added one in the seventh, to trail with five, and two in the eighth to tie the game with seven. In this close game, the ninth proved that the Sailors had more determination to win on this day, when the Sailors picked up three, to Shedden's two, which not only gave the Pirates the win, with a score of Sailors 10 - Shedden 9, but to tie with Shedden for first place in this year's Port Stanley Senior Softball League Standings.
