The eighteenth set of games of the 2017 Port Stanley Senior Softball season were held Wednesday, August 9th in mostly sunny skies, with temperatures rising over the day to 28 degrees Celsius, a Humidex of 36 and the wind from the Southwest at 20 km/h.

In Game 1 Shedden took an early lead in the first with a single run, added two in the fourth, added another four in the fifth, and added another single in the sixth, while the Blues finally got on the scoreboard in the sixth with two. Shedden kept busy again in the seventh sending another five around the bases, and another three in the eighth, while the Blues came back with a single, just a little shy of the thirteen runs needed to tie the game. The ninth ended with another two runs for Shedden, giving them the highest score of the season, and the win with a final score of Shedden 18 - Blues 3.

In Game 2 the Pirates got off to an early lead in the first with a single run, and another two runs in the second, while Boxall took a little longer, got on the scoreboard big time with five runs in the fourth and took the lead. The Pirates took back the lead by two in the seventh, while Boxall managed to close the gap by one in the eighth. In the ninth the Pirates extended their lead by another two to take the win with a final score of Pirates 9 - Boxall 6.

In Game 3 the Sailors took the early lead in the first with three runs, while Boxall got on the scoreboard with two runs in the second. The Sailors lost their lead with only one in the fourth, while the Maroons came on strong with four to have a two point advantage. In the fifth the lead was swapped again with three runs for the Sailors, plus another four in the seventh, and a single in the eighth for a total of twelve. Last chance efforts for the Maroons went south with only two runs in the ninth giving the win to the Sailors with a final score of Sailors 12 - Maroons 8.
