Sailors Win 95 Over Maroons, Shedden Win 104 Over Pirates, Boxall Wins 60 Over Blues

The twenty-first set of games of the 2018 Port Stanley Senior Softball season were held Wednesday, September, 12th, 2018 in mainly cloudy skies with temperatures rising over the day to 22 degrees Celsius. The UV index was at 5 or moderate and the humidex was at 29.

In Game 1 the Maroons took the early lead in the first inning with just a single run, while the Sailors came back with two runs in the third to steal the lead by one. In the top of the fourth the Maroons took back the lead by one with two runs, but that changed to a tie when the Sailors had their turn at bat. The game remained tied until the sixth inning when the Sailors regained the lead with two runs. In the top of the seventh inning the Maroons seemed to take back control for a brief moment to tie the game, but lost the tie when the Sailors had their turn at bat, this time again by a two run lead. The Sailors increased their lead by another two runs in the eighth inning which gave the Sailors the win with a final score of Sailors 9 - Maroons 5.

In Game 2 Shedden seemed to take early control of the game by sending four players around the bases in the first, while the Pirates had a hard time keeping pace with only two. Shedden continued playing well adding another three runs in the second to now lead 7-2. During the fourth inning the Pirates tried a comeback but came up a little short with only two runs. In the eighth inning Shedden managed to increase their lead by another three runs which led to an easy win over the Pirates, this seasons top ranked team so far, by a final score of Shedden 10 - Pirates 4.

In Game 3 Boxall got on the scoreboard in the second inning with two runs, added two more in the fourth, and finally added another two runs in the eighth, while the Blues remained scoreless. Boxall eventually won the game with a final score of Boxall 6 - Blues 0.
