This Wednesday's game's brought a intermittent light drizzle and cool temperatures
that made for an almost perfect day for playing softball on the second set of games in the
Port Stanley Seniors Softball Club 2017 season. Despite near perfect conditions some players
are still having trouble getting into the swing of things, mainly due to being just
a little out of shape, and a year older.
In Game 1 the Pirates got off to a early lead with five in the first, and
added two more in the second, while the Blues got off to a slow start managing
one in the third, and one in the fourth. The Pirates picked up another one in the
fourth, one in the sixth, two more in the seventh, and finally one more in the eighth to
easily take the win with a score of Pirates 12 - Blues 2
In Game 2 the Maroons were playing well and took the early lead with five in the
first while Shedden managed two. Shedden came back to tie with one in the second, one in
the third, and one in the fourth. The Maroons took the lead back again with three more in
the eighth, and finally four more in the ninth. Shedden managed three in the ninth, but
ran out of time giving the win to the Maroons with a score of Maroons 12 - Shedden 8
In Game 3 the Sailors took the early lead with one in the first, and one in the
second. Boxall got on the scoreboard with one in the third, while the Sailors extended
their lead with three in the fourth. Boxall came back with one in the fifth to stay at two,
while the Sailors picked up one in the seventh, and one in the ninth to take the win with
a score of Sailors 7 - Boxall 2
