Missing Players Give Blues 171 Win

This Friday's game's were rescheduled from Friday May 26th due to rain, and today the players had another day of partly cloudy skies with a high of 20 degrees Celsius that made for an almost perfect day for playing softball for the fourth set of games in the Port Stanley Seniors Softball Club 2017 season.

In Game 1 the Maroons were short on players for the game today and had to share some players from other teams. The Blues took advantage of the Maroons player shortage starting in the second with five, then one in the third, one in the fourth, one in the sixth, and then five in the seventh. The eighth saw the Maroons finally getting one, but they just couldn't contain the Blues who added another four to easily take the win with a score of Blues 17 - Maroons 1

In Game 2 this time with full team roster's, the Pirates started things off with two in the first, only to have the Sailors comeback in the second with two to tie. The fourth saw the Pirates slide ahead by one, and then by five in the fifth, only to see the Sailors comeback with four, creating only a two point lead for the Pirates. The eighth saw the Pirates adding four, while the Sailors had to settle with only three to sit with a three point disadvantage. In the ninth the Sailors fell short of a tie with two, which gave the Pirates the win with a score of Pirates 12 - Sailors 11

In Game 3 Shedden was also missing a few players, but still managed to keep the game rather close at the end. Boxall took the early lead with two in the first, then one in the third, and one in the fourth to lead by four, while Shedden got one. The fifth saw Boxall gain another, while in the sixth it was Sheddens turn with two, and then in the seventh Boxall added three to end up with a total of eight. With Shedden down by a score of 8-3, even with a player shortage they managed to close the gap by adding one in the eighth, and two in the ninth to end the game, but still losing with a closer score of Boxall 8 - Shedden 6
