Maroons Win 53 Over Blues, Boxall Wins 65 Over Shedden, Pirates Win 84 Over Sailors

The nineteenth set of games of the 2018 Port Stanley Senior Softball season were held Wednesday, August, 29th, 2018 in partly cloudy skies with temperatures rising to 24 degrees Celsius. The UV index was at 6 or high and the Humidex was at 32. This is the first game in two weeks due to rain, hopefully some rain dates will be announced soon to play those games that got cancelled.

In Game 1 the Blues took the lead in the first inning with a single run, while the Maroons came back with a single run in the second inning to tie the game. In the third inning the Blues managed two runs to retake the lead, while the Maroons were playing their best trying to catch the new leader got lucky in the fifth with a single run, capitalized bigtime in the seventh inning with three runs to take the lead and finally win the game with a final score of Maroons 5 - Blues 3.

In Game 2 Boxall managed to send two players around the bases first to take the lead, while Shedden settled for a single run in the first inning. Boxall seemed to be playing well adding another two runs in the second inning extending their lead to 4-1. In the third inning Shedden managed to add a single run, and then another single in the sixth inning to close in on Boxall with Shedden now down only by one. In the seventh Boxall extended their lead by one, only to have Shedden come back in the eighth with two runs to tie the game. The game remained tied until the tenth inning when Boxall retook the lead with a single and won the game with a final score of Boxall 6 - Shedden 5.

In Game 3 both teams got on the scoreboard in the first inning with the Sailors getting two runs and the Pirates taking the lead with three runs. The Pirates added to their lead with a single run in the third, while the Sailors came back strong in the fourth with two runs to tie the game. The game remained tied until the sixth when the Pirates sent four players around those bases to take the lead and finally the win with a final score of Pirates 8 - Sailors 4.
