Boxall Wins 32 Over Sailors, Maroons Win 134 Over Blues, Shedden Wins 145 Over Pirates

The eleventh set of games of the Paul Caldwell Wooden Bats League 2019 season were held Wednesday, July, 10th in mostly sunny skies with a high for the day a very humid 31 degrees Celsius, and the wind was from the southwest at 20 km/h. The Humidex reached 39 and the UV index was 9 or very high. Some players today thought that because of the heat they should have played seven innings.

Game 1 was pretty even until the fourth when Boxall finally managed two runs to take the lead and then in the sixth added another for a 3 point advantage. In the seventh the Sailors finally managed their first run of the game, while in the ninth they added another but this was a case of too litle too late which gave the win to Boxall with a final score of Boxall 3 - Sailors 2.

In Game 2 the Maroons took the early lead with two runs in the first and another in the third, while the Blues managed a single run in the fourth. In the fifth the Maroons added another to now lead 4-1. Action picked up in the sixth with the Blues adding a single run while the Maroons added two. The Maroons seemed to be playing very well today while the Blues seemed to be suffering from the heat. During the seventh the Blues managed a single run while the Maroons sent five players around the bases, the pace slowed a bit in the eighth with both teams getting only single runs, and finally the ninth had only a single run for the Maroons witch gave them an easy win with a final score of Maroons 13 - Blues 4.

In Game 3 Shedden seemed to have their winning form back after only losing one game so far this season to the Blues last week. Shedden began with two runs in the second and then in the fourth added three, while the Pirates managed two to get on the scoreboard. In the fifth Shedden added another to lead 6-2. In the sixth the Pirates staged a come back with their final three runs, but Shedden added another single run to maintain their lead 7-5. In the seventh Shedden added another three runs and in the eighth added four more which kept them ahead with a nine point advantage leading to an easy win with a final score of Shedden 14 - Pirates 5.
