The nineteenth set of games of the 2017 Port Stanley Senior Softball season were held Friday, August 11th in mostly cloudy skies, with temperatures rising over the day to 25 degrees Celsius, a Humidex of 30 and the wind from the Southwest at 20 km/h. There were traces of rain at the start of the first game making the playing field a little slippery, and by the time the last game of the day started, the rain had stopped altogether. Today's rain may have also caused some players to miss out on playing which created some rather high scoring games.

In Game 1 the Blues took an early lead in the first with two runs, and added another five in the third, while the Maroons got on the scoreboard with two, added a single in the fourth, and tied the game in the fifth with four runs. During the sixth the Blues managed to retake the lead with three runs, and added another two in the eighth, while the Maroons added only one. The Blues added another run in the ninth to finally take the win with a final score of Blues 13 - Maroons 8.

In Game 2which was a good close game right to the end, got started in the first with the Pirates getting two runs, and then the Sailors took over the lead with three runs. The Pirates took back the lead with three in the third, and added another in the fourth. Leading by three was just not enough for the Pirates today, as the Sailors rebounded with a single in the fifth, and another two in the seventh to tie the game. In the eighth the Pirates again took the lead by one, but that soon changed in the ninth, when the Sailors came back with two, to then lead by one taking the win with a final score of Sailors 8 - Pirates 7.

In Game 3 Shedden was missing several key players today, but managed to get enough to play todays game for seven innings, only to have a huge loss to Boxall. To say that the game was tilted, well it's just a matter of opinion, because, once it got going, Boxall took over the game and never looked back. It started with one in the first, one in the second, then five in the third, three in the fourth, and fifth, and finally four in the sixth. Shedden seemed to have no chance at all of making any runs today giving Boxall an easy win with a final score of Boxall 17 - Shedden 0.
