Sailors Win Big Time Over Bulldogs

On Friday, October 13th, 2017 the Port Stanley Sailors played game eight of the season against the Mt.Brydges Bulldogs at the Port Stanley Arena. This game against the Bulldogs should be a close game, but Port Stanley should come out on top as the Bulldogs so far this season are in last place in the standings.

The Sailors Nolan Blewett (13) got the first goal of the game at 11:36, with Tyler Foslett (9), and Dawson Cook (24) assisting. Bulldogs came back to tie the game at 15:37 when Mt.Brydges Tanner Lafrance (22) put the puck past Sailors Ryan Langford (1), with assists going to Aidan Tisdale (24), and Wes Griffiths (20). The first period ended in a tie with the Sailors having the upper hand with more shots on goal.

The second period proved to be a win fall for Port Stanley as the Sailors took almost complete control of the period scoring six goals. With the exception of the first goal of the period on a power play at 1:07 by Bulldogs Tanner Lafrance (22), assisted by Patrick Green (2), the rest of the scoring credit went to the Sailors. The first at 8:23 Brady Allen (2), assisted by Tyler Simon (25), and the second at 10:28 by Ethan Parent (22) this time on a power play, with Eric Scherer (21), and Brady Allen (2) assisting. The third less than two minutes later at 12:15 by Brayden Latimer (19), assisted by Brady Allen (2). The fourth at 16:49 by Dawson Cook (24), with assists going to Nolan Blewett (13), and Tyler Foslett (9) took a little longer, but in the thirty-one seconds that followed, Port Stanley kept busy with Nolan Blewett (13) scoring number five with Tyler Foslett (9), and Dawson Cook (24) assisting at 17:04. The sixth went in at 17:20 by Dawson Cook (24), with assists going to Tyler Foslett (9), and Nolan Blewett (13). After the Sailors took advantage of all those scoring opportunities, the Bulldogs solution was to replace goalie Morgan Reed (1) with a fresh off the bench goalie Logan Vermunt (30).

The third period saw Port Stanley play protecting their 7-2 lead, but Bulldogs Tanner Lafrance (22) managed to finally break free at 15:39 scoring the last goal of the game.
