Savage, (Michalicka) Emily Olga of Port Stanley, passed away on Saturday, July 7th,
2018, at St Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, at the age of 75.
Dearly loved mother of Wayde (Diana) Lansing and loved grandmother of Kyra and Erin.
Dear sister of John, Joseph and Mary. Dear aunt of the late Robert Bentley (Agatha
and her son Jefferey).
Emily was born in Hamilton, Ontario on October 30, 1942, the daughter of the late
Joseph and Bridget (Urbanec) Michalicka.
In the 1960's Emily's warm dynamic personality propelled her into the world of music
and bartending for which she developed many friendships with some of the Canadian
music industry's top performers. On occasion staff news writer Paul Rimstead would
write about Emily's funny antics while tending bar at the Cav A Bob. Emily had a
long successful career with the Royal Bank of Canada until her retirement in 1998.
Emily came from a family of professional artists, she enjoyed working with pencil
and water colours. Over the years her inspirations would include nature, people
wildlife, native Canadian style and architecture.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 21st at 11:00 am at the Port
Stanley Legion Hall. Donations can be made to the Canadian Red Cross or Animal Rescue
Organizations. Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas in charge of arrangements.
