Crime Prevention: Help Us Help You
The Woodstock Police Service has kicked off Ontario's annual Crime Prevention Week,
which runs from November 4 to 10, 2018. The week-long promotion of crime prevention
is supported by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP), the Ministry
of Community Safety and Correctional Services, and all police services across Ontario.
"Crime prevention works. When police work with their communities to stop crime in
its tracks, we all win," said Deputy Chief Sweazey. "We are proud that Ontario communities
are among the safest in the world. But community safety and well-being takes hard
work and collaboration. That's why our service is proud to partner with government,
community leaders, young people, and businesses to prevent crime throughout our
This week and throughout the next couple of months Woodstock Police will be working
with our community to promote crime prevention as a shared responsibility in our
Woodstock Police has seen an increase in property crimes over the past several months.
The Woodstock Police Service have dedicated officer to the enforcement and education
of crime prevention strategies.
The Woodstock Police Service will be conducting CPTED (crime prevention through
environmental design) audits, personal and property safety education as well as
the lock it or lose it program.
