July 3rd, 2018 - A trio of shoplifters tried to hit the St. Thomas Walmart on Friday
June 30th around 10:30 in the morning. The three suspects were observed walking
through the store hiding merchandise in a backpack. The group tried to leave the
store with over $650 worth of stolen property but were confronted by loss prevention.
The suspects dropped the bag and fled into a vehicle and drove away. Officers were
able to locate the vehicle a short distance away however there were only two occupants
at the time. A fifty one year old London man and a thirty six year old St. Thomas
woman were arrested for one count of Theft Under $5000. They were both later released
on a Promise to Appear in Court. Police were able to charge the third suspect who
was a thirty four year old woman from London later in the day after she was arrested
at an unrelated break and enter.
Two St. Thomas teens were arrested on Saturday June 30th around 7:30 pm after trying
to steal headphones from Walmart. Loss prevention observed two eighteen year old
males walking through the store. One male grabbed two sets of headphones and hid
them in a back pack being worn by the second male. The two then proceeded to leave
the store making no attempt to pay for the merchandise. The suspects were arrested
by loss prevention as as a result are now each charged with one count of Theft Under
$5000 and released on an Appearance Notice for Court.
A forty year old Woodstock man was arrested Sunday July 1st after an incident in
St. Thomas Saturday night. The man drove to the city and confronted his thirty eight
year old ex wife in a parking lot. A verbal argument became physical when the man
reached into the woman’s car assaulting her. 911 was called and the male drove away
after circling the woman’s vehicle several times. The man was located by Woodstock
police the next and day taken into custody. The man was transferred back to St.
Thomas where he was charged with two counts of Assault, one count of Dangerous Driving
and one count of Disobeying a Court Order banning communication with his ex wife.

A thirty three year old St Thomas man was arrested Monday July 2nd around 4:30 in
the afternoon after he walked into the restroom of a Talbot Street restaurant carrying
two syringes in his hand. Restaurant management called police after suspecting the
male was injecting drugs in the washroom. Officers arrived and took the male into
custody. Two syringes and a small quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine were located
in the man’s pants. As a result the man is now charged with one count of Possession
of Drugs and one count of Breach of Conditions. He was later released on a Promise
to Appear in Court.
