Weekend Brief for October 6, 2017 to October 9, 2017

Woodstock Police responded to 195 calls for service over the long weekend.

Operation Impact stats

Woodstock Police officers charged several people over the weekend during the Operation Impact Initiative. 2 speeding, 6 seatbelt, 1 red light, 1 fail to surrender licence, 1 suspended driver, 1 fail to surrender insurance card, 2 no insurance, 1 expired validation tag, 10 distracted driving – hand held device and one 3 day license suspension for registering an alert on a road side device.

Warrants Executed

On Friday, October 6, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. Police observed Matthew EDWARDS in a business on Dundas St. Edwards had a warrant for his arrest for failing to attend court. EDWARDS left the business and got into a vehicle. The vehicle was stopped on Graham St. by Police. EDWARDS tried to evade Police by lying about his identity. Police placed EDWARDS under arrest and he fled the area on foot. Police engaged in a foot pursuit and arrested EDWARDS.

On Friday, October 6, 2017 at 4:00 pm. Police observed Steven LICHTI, age 50 in the downtown core. LITCHTI had a warrant for failing to appear in court. LITCHI was arrested without incident.


On Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. a 27 year old man was waiting for a taxi in a parking lot on Brock St. in the City of Woodstock. The 27 year old was chased by a male who was yelling death threats at him. The 27 year old was able to get into a business on Dundas St. and the staff contacted Police. Andre REED, age 40 was charged with Utter Threats and has been held in custody.
