April 21st, 2017 - An Officer on patrol observed a vehicle in a West end variety
store parking lot with a male and female known to him, who were possibly on a non
communication order. After a brief investigation it was determined that they were
both on conditions not to communicate with each other however in the meantime the
vehicle had left the area. A short time later the vehicle was stopped on New Street,
this time just the male was present. The Officer detected an odour of freshly burnt
Marihuana coming from inside the vehicle. The male was arrested for breaching his
release conditions and after a search of the vehicle by Police Service Dog Trax
(Certified Drug Detection), a small amount of Crystal Meth was located.
The 40-year old male from St. Thomas has been charged with Fail to comply with undertaking,
Fail to Comply with Recognizance and possession of a controlled substance. He was
held pending a Bail Hearing.
The female, a 37-year old St. Thomas woman, was located a short distance away and
was arrested for party to the offence. She has been charged with Fail to Comply
with Undertaking, Fail to Comply with Recognizance, and possession of a controlled
substance after locating a small amount of Marihuana in her pocket upon being arrested.
She was also held pending a bail hearing.
