Theft  Police Week

May 14th, 2018 - The St. Thomas police responded to 137 calls for service over the weekend from Friday evening until Monday morning.

Theft

On Sunday May 13, 2018 at around 7:30 p.m. the St. Thomas Police were called to a downtown agency with regards to a stolen cell phone. Investigation revealed that a client of the agency was responsible for the theft. A 27 year old St. Thomas man is charged with one count of Theft Under $5000.

Police Week

Police week runs from May 13-19 2018. The St. Thomas Police have several events planned throughout the week to highlight our important community partners. On Monday May 14th the St. Thomas Police will partner with Elgin Court Public School for a litter pick-up/physical activity afternoon and on May 15th Police will participate in a card tournament with clients of CMHA.

On May 16th members of the community engagement unit will hold a free "shred-it" drop off at the Timken Centre parking lot from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., where people can bring in their old documents to be shredded. Also on May 16th at 10:00 a.m. there is a Coffee with a Cop event being held at the Tim Horton's located on Talbot St. at Woodworth Ave. Members of the community can meet Chief Chris Herridge, Deputy Chief Marc Roskamp and Inspector Hank Zehr at this event.

On Thursday May 17th the St. Thomas Police will be conducting two Scam seminars one at 10:00 a.m. and one at 2:00 p.m. which are being hosted by the Real Canadian Superstore. The St. Thomas Police Administration will also be assisting Meals on Wheels on May 17th delivering lunches to those who can't get out due to mobility restrictions.

On Friday May 18th members of the St. Thomas Police will participate in the women's and men's coffee club at Valleyview Home. This allows police a chance to visit and socialize with the residents. Police Week celebrates policing and community partnerships which play a key role in modern and effective policing.
