November 6th, 2018 - A thirty four year old London woman wanted on a warrant from St. Thomas was arrested by Toronto Transit Police yesterday morning in Toronto. TTP were dealing with the woman on an unrelated matter when they discovered she was wanted on a warrant for failing to attend court in Elgin County. The woman was taken into custody and transferred back to St. Thomas where she was held at the Colin McGregor Justice Building for a court appearance. The woman is originally charged with several break and enter and theft charges stemming from an incident back in the summer. The woman is alleged to have attended the residence of an elderly St. Thomas man in June of 2018 and pretended to be a hired cleaner. Once inside the home, the woman stole several prescriptions, jewellery and household items from the resident. Her plan was foiled when the residents granddaughter attended the residence and interrupted the theft. The woman was released on a Promise to Appear at the time of the incident.

A thirty nine year old St. Thomas woman wanted on a warrant for failing to attend court turned herself into police at the Colin McGregor Justice Building yesterday around the noon hour. The woman is alleged to have falsely reported her Ontario Works cheque as stolen to police back in March of 2018 knowing OW would issue a replacement cheque. The woman had cashed the first cheque before OW could cancel it or confirm it was cashed. Government bank records later proved the woman had cashed both cheques. She was arrested and charged with one count of Fraud and one count of Public Mischief at the time of the incident but did not show up for her court date. Teh woman was held in custody at the Colin McGregor Justice Building for court.
