Fatal Collision On Talbot Line

Update - Fatal Collision On Talbot Line - Deceased Identified

Malahide Township, ON - The deceased driver has been identified as Brian HALL age 65 of Gabriola Island, British Colombia.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

Fatal Collision On Talbot Line

Malahide Township, ON - On May 3, 2018, at approximately 9:45 a.m., members of the Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), St. Thomas-Elgin Paramedics and Malahide Fire Services responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 3 (Talbot Line), between Hacienda Road and Springfield Road, Malahide Township.

The investigation, thus far has revealed that an eastbound pick-up truck and a westbound sedan collided head-on.

As a result of the collision, the adult male driver of the sedan was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.

The driver of the pick-up truck was transported to hospital via land ambulance with serious injuries.

Talbot Line is expected to remain closed to traffic between Hacienda Road and Springfield Road for several hours.

OPP Technical Collison Investigators (TCI) are on scene assisting with the investigation.
