June 11th, 2018 - St. Thomas Police Weekend Call Tracker: There were 145 calls for
service from Friday evening until Monday morning.
The St. Thomas Police are seeking the public's assistance with regards to damage
caused to the Dalewood Bridge. The City of St. Thomas had installed nylon netting
around the bridge based on an environmental assessment. This was done to protect
birds and stop them from nesting on the bridge ahead of the planned construction.
Sometime overnight on May 24, 2018 the nylon netting was set on fire, destroying
the netting along the entire span of the bridge. If anyone has any information with
regards to this incident, they are asked to contact the St. Thomas Police at 519-631-1224
or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
