Breach of Conditions

August 12, 2017 - On the 11th August 2017 at 11:48 P.M. the St Thomas Police Service responded to the area of 87 St Catharine Street for a traffic complaint of a red pickup truck performing stunts in the dead end parking lot at the north end of St Catharine Street. The caller appeared concerned that the driver may be intoxicated as the vehicle was observed to park and two males "stumbled" into the apartment building.

Police arrived in the area to find the pickup truck had already left. The pickup was located by officers a short distance away and conducted a traffic stop on the red pickup.

The vehicle was stopped and two occupants were observed inside - A female driver and a male passenger. The 27 year old male passenger was found to be intoxicated by alcohol and was arrested at the scene after it was discovered he was breaching his conditions of his Undertaking. He remains in custody pending a video bail appearance on the 12th of August 2017.

Impaired Driver

On 12 August 2018 at approximately 00:15hrs The St. Thomas Police were conduction patrols in the downtown core when they observed a motor vehicle travelling s/b on White St. A traffic stop was initiated however the vehice failed to stop initially and continued to an address on Wellington and where it entered the rear of the parking lot.

St. Thomas Police followed the vehicle to the Wellington Street address and entered into an investigation that resulted in a 51 year old male located in the driver's seat. The male was intoxicated by alcohol. Police requested the male to exit his car and provide his drivers licence.

A short time later he was placed under arrest for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving a motor vehicle in excess of 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

The male was transported to the St. Thomas Police Service and provided two breath samples resulting in 100 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for a 7 day period.

The male will now appear on the 29th of August 2017 for his first appearance in court to answer to the impaired driving charges.
