Aerosol Spray Used During An Assault

October 7th, 2017 - On Friday October 6, 2017, the victim attended a residence in the Fifth Avenue and Wellington Street area of the City of St. Thomas to hang out with a group of associates.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. a verbal altercation ensued between the victim and another male that quickly turned physical. During the altercation the victim was pushed backwards when he was then sprayed with an aerosol spray. The spray had the effect on the victim similar to that of what’s commonly known as "Pepper Spray" used by Law Enforcement, causing his eyes to immediately experience a burning sensation causing them to swell close as well as burning sensation on his exposed skin. The victim ran down the street to a neighbouring residence where 911 was called. The victim was taken to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital where he was treated and released with no permanent damage.

The St. Thomas Police have identified the person responsible for this isolated event and are seeking a warrant for their arrest.
