Shedden Wins 178 Over Maroons, Pirates Win 109 Over Boxall, Blues Win 97 Over Sailors

Todays games were rescheduled from Wednesday, July 17th, 2019 because of rain. The thirteenth set of games of the Paul Caldwell Wooden Bats League 2019 season were held Monday, July, 29th in mostly sunny skies with a high for the day a very humid 30 degrees Celsius, with the wind from the southwest at 30 km/h. The Humidex reached 38 and the UV index was 9 or very high.

In Game 1 Shedden took the early lead with four runs in the first and added another four runs in the second while the Maroons got on the scoreboard with three in the fourth. Shedden seemed to be playing well today by sending another five players around the bases in the fifth despite the humid heat. In the sixth both teams added two runs while in the seventh Shedden added one and the Maroons added three. The last run of the game was made by Shedden in the eighth which gave them an easy win over the with a final score of Shedden 17 - Maroons 8.

In Game 2 the Pirates took the early lead with five runs in the first and added four in the third to have a healthy lead of 9-0. In the fifth Boxall finally got on the scoreboard with a single run, added four in the sixth, and another single run in the seventh to pause at six, but still down by three. The ninth was a close inning with Boxall adding three runs in the top of the inning tying the game for a brief moment, but the Pirates came back in the bottom of the ninth with a single run to take the win with a final score of Pirates 10 - Boxall 9.

In Game 3 both the Sailors and the Blues got off to a great start with sending five players around the bases in the first for a tie. The Blues managed another three runs in the third for the lead while the Sailors only picked up two to settle down by one. The last run of the game was made in the fifth by the Blues which kept them in the lead and finally the win with a final score of Blues 9 - Sailors 7.
