Sailors Sink Blues 108, Maroons Take Shedden 97, Pirates Take Boxall 84

The seventeenth set of games of the Paul Caldwell Wooden Bats League 2019 season were held Wednesday, August, 21st in a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 28 degrees Celsius with the wind from the southwest at 20 km/h. The Humidex reached 36 and the UV index was 8 or very high.

In Game 1 the Blues got on the scoreboard with two runs in the first, then added another in the second inning, while the Sailors took a little longer but managed two in the third, and added another in the fourth to tie 3-3. In the fifth the Blues managed four runs enough to take the lead for a couple of innings. In the seventh the Sailors managed four runs which tied the game again, while in the eighth the Blues added a single run to take the lead. The ninth was a good inning for the Sailors as they came back to retake the lead and win in this very close game with a final score of Sailors 10 - Blues 8.

In Game 2 Shedden got off to a great start sending five players around the bases in the first while the Maroons managed two runs, and added another three in the second to tie the game. Shedden took the lead by one in the third, but lost it again in the fifth when the Maroons came back with a single run. The game stayed tied until the eighth when the Maroons pulled ahead by three, while Shedden's come back in the ninth fell flat with only a single run to this upset win to the Maroons with a final score of Maroons 9 - Shedden 7.

In Game 3 Boxall managed to get on the scoreboard with a single run in the first while the Pirates took a little longer making a big splash in the fourth by sending five players around the bases. Boxall came back in the fifth with a single while the Pirates extended their lead with another two runs in the sixth. In the seventh with the Pirates leading 7-2, Boxall made their last two runs of the game, while the Pirates added their last run to keep the lead and finally the win with a final score of Pirates 8 - Boxall 4.
