Blues Over Pirates 75, Maroons Sink Sailors 103, Shedden Tops Boxall 152

The nineteenth set of games of the Paul Caldwell Wooden Bats League 2019 season were held Wednesday, September, 4th in mainly cloudy conditions with a high of 19 degrees Celsius with the wind from the northwest at 20 km/h gusting to 40 km/h. The UV index was 6 or high.

In Game 1 both the Blues and the Pirates got on the scoreboard with single runs in the first inning. It was tied until the fourth when the Pirates took the lead on another single run, but two innings later the Blues came back with a single run to tie the game again. In the eighth the Blues managed some great hits that sent five players around the bases to take the lead, while Pirates came up short with just a single run. The ninth inning was the last chance for the Pirates to turn the game around, but today just seemed to not be their lucky day and could only manage two runs to give the win to the Blues with a final score of Blues 7 - Pirates 5.

In Game 2 the teams seemed to be evenly matched until the fourth when the Maroons got on the scoreboard with three runs, added another in the fifth, and sent five players around the bases in the seventh to lead 9-0. The Sailors did get on the scoreboard with two runs in the eighth, and both teams managed single runs in the ninth with the win easily going to the Maroons with a final score of Maroons 10 - Sailors 3.

In Game 3 Shedden, the Number One Team so far this season sent five players around the bases in the first and then again in the second inning, while Boxall managed a single run. Shedden added another two runs in the fifth, and both teams managed single runs in the sixth which kept Shedden leading 13-2. Boxall didn't want to suffer too great a loss so the game was shortened to just seven innings, but Shedden did add two runs to their lead to win with a final score of Shedden 15 - Boxall 2.
