Premier Has No Answer As To Why Surgery Not Funded For 3 Year Old

Queen's Park - This morning Ontario PC Health Critic Jeff Yurek (Elgin-Middlesex-London) questioned the Premier on her Liberal Government's refusal to fund 3 year old Madison Ambos's selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) therapy.

SDR therapy is not available in Ontario but would change the life of little Madison who suffers from Cerebral Palsy.

"This Government has created a rationed healthcare system though their scandals and mismanagement," stated Yurek. "Madison and many other children are left unable to access the healthcare they need. Families are left on their own; to rely on the generosity of others to help raise the much needed funds to travel out of country for treatment."

"The government's red tape and endless layers of management have made it an impossible nightmare for Madison's family to apply for financial assistance from the Ministry of Health. This Liberal Government needs to do the right thing and fund Madison's surgery," concluded Yurek.
