Before you vote - get to know your local trustee candidates
Toronto, ON, October 18, 2018 - This Monday, October 22, Municipal and School Board
Elections will be held throughout the province of Ontario. Voters will choose school
trustees for 72 school boards in Ontario's four publicly funded systems.
Trustees are the only democratically elected individuals responsible for the education
of Ontario's children. Voters who want to learn more about what trustees do and
who their local candidates are can visit elections.ontarioschooltrustees.org before
they head to the polls. The site was created by the Ontario Education Services Corporation
(OESC) on behalf of Ontario's four school board/trustee associations. It features
a listing of trustee candidates across all of Ontario's school boards, wards and
zones. After Election Day, the site will be updated with election results.
School board trustees play a key leadership role in public education. Get to know
your local trustee candidates before voting in the Municipal and School Board Elections
on October 22.
