Simcoe, ON, July 23, 2019 – Join the Long Point Basin Land Trust for a free event on Tuesday, July 23rd at Trout Creek Nature Reserve.

Do you love trees? Are you interested in learning about forests? Do you want to know more about your place in nature? Do you want to share these ideas with like-minded individuals? J

oin us for an evening walk at Trout Creek Nature Reserve. Take time to appreciate the beauty of the forest, share knowledge, and learn about the unique tree species here in Norfolk County's Carolinian forest region.

Tommy is an avid tree enthusiast. He will discuss many aspects of the forest including the traits of the trees as well as the challenges they face and the importance of species diversity in the forest. Join us for an opportunity to learn and share what you know!

Trout Creek Nature Reserve is located on Yuell Road, north of McDowell Road East and Charlotteville Road 10.

What: Forest Walk
When: Tuesday, July 23rd, 2019 from 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Where: Trout Creek Nature Reserve is located at Yuell Road, Simcoe, ON, N3Y 4J9.

Zen Walk

Simcoe, ON, July 27, 2019 – Join the Long Point Basin Land Trust for a free event on Saturday, July 27th at Trout Creek Nature Reserve.

Join the Long Point Basin Land Trust at Trout Creek Nature Reserve as we explore our connection with the living canvas of the earth - the forest!

This interactive walk will promote awakening, healing and mindfulness as we appreciate the beauty of the forest. The concept of mindfulness is well supported by current scientific study and it has become increasingly recognized as essential to a balanced lifestyle.

Tommy is a practitioner of zen who brings a holistic perspective to life, particularly within the forest. He will discuss the importance of living mindfully, incorporating meditation in your life, and touch on some of the aspects of the trees themselves. There will be moments of stillness and quiet bonding which we will share in this sacred place.

Bring an inquisitive mind, open heart, and a thirst for the wonder of feeling truly alive!
