Doug Ford Wins A Majority Government

Doug Ford, a fiscal Progressive Conservative who believed governments wasted too much taxpayer's money wins 76 seats for a majority government ending nearly 15 years of Liberal power in the province. His mandate to cut taxes, cut the price of gas, cut hydro rates, cut the price of beer and eliminate the deficit while spending billions on transit and infrastructure projects captured 2,322,422 votes province-wide, or 40.49% of eligible Ontario voters.

Andrea Horwath's NDP platform for a "Change For The Better" secured the official opposition status after winning 40 seats, captured 1,925,574 votes province-wide, or 33.57% of eligible Ontario voters.

Kathleen Wynne's Ontario Liberal Party managed to only win 7 seats losing the official party status by a single seat, captured 1,123,283 votes province-wide, or 19.59% of eligible Ontario voters.

Mike Schreiner leader of the Green Party of Ontario won his seat in Guelph making history getting the first Green Party seat in Ontario, captured 263,987 votes province-wide, or 4.60% of eligible Ontario voters.

Voter turnout province-wide was set at 58.00% with 9,888,888 eligible voters on the list.

In the Elgin-Middlesex-London riding, Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario incumbent Jeff Yurek got re-elected capturing 29,264 votes across the riding, or 55.40% of eligible voters.

Amanda Stratton representing the Ontario NDP in Elgin-Middlesex-London placed second capturing 16,923 votes across the riding, or 32.04% of eligible voters.

Carlie Forsythe representing the Ontario Liberal Party in Elgin-Middlesex-London placed third capturing 3,857 votes across the riding, or 7.30% of eligible voters.

Bronagh Morgan representing the Green Party of Ontario in Elgin-Middlesex-London placed fourth capturing 2,049 votes across the riding, or 3.88% of eligible voters.

Voter turnout in Elgin-Middlesex-London was set at 60.87% with 86,787 eligible voters on the list.
