St. Thomas, Ontario - May 3, 2018 - A portion of the Dalewood Reservoir Trail will
remain closed for the 2018 season as construction is set to begin on the new Dalewood
"The Dalewood Bridge is currently closed, and will soon be an active construction
site," says Elizabeth VanHooren, General Manager of Kettle Creek Conservation Authority.
"This will necessitate closing the Dalewood Reservoir trail in the vicinity of the
bridge – breaking the loop nature of the trail."
With the bridge soon to be under construction the closure of the trail loop will
be strictly enforced. The Dalewood Road Parking lot at the trailhead will also remain

"But the new bridge will include a safe pedestrian access so it really is a short
term inconvenience for long-term gain."
Kayakers, canoeists and other users of the reservoir are also reminded to stay clear
of the area in and around the bridge during demolition and construction activities.
Kettle Creek Conservation Authority manages over 26 kilometres of hiking trails
and two campgrounds – Dalewood and Lake Whittaker – that are now open to the public.
