St. Thomas, ON - Fluctuating weather conditions won't put a halt to the 2017 World
Tubing Championships returning to St. Thomas this Family Day Weekend – Saturday,
February 18th and Sunday, February 19th at the McCaig Family International Tubing
Park (Bush Line and Sunset Drive) in St. Thomas.
"Plans and preparations are well
underway, and we're moving ahead with complete confidence," declares STEGH Foundation
Paul Jenkins. "Our sponsors and competitors are excited for the return of 'The Worlds'
and, with only eight days to go – rain, snow or shine – we can't wait to see it
all come together!"
Presented by Impressions Printing, this FREE, family friendly winter festival and
fundraiser – with an epic tubing competition as its flagship event – will host a
weekend of Canadiana, cold, and competing in a sport requiring no discernible ability,
all in support of the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital and the purchase of a new

For All Involved
A gigantic heated tent will provide shelter from the cold, and
visitors can purchase food and beverages from an array of onsite vendors. A fulsome
schedule of live entertainment will delight patrons of all ages, and a dedicated
Kids' Zone will keep children busy and engaged with crafts, cookie decorating and
Opening ceremonies on Saturday night include a performance by Canadian
female country artist Genevieve Fisher. And on Sunday night, following the presentation
of medals for our 2017 tubing champions, a spectacular fireworks display will delight
the crowd and bring 'The Worlds' to a close once more.
A FREE and accessible bus
shuttle service to the site is available both days, to and from the Elgin Mall.
More than 50 teams raising at least $1,000 each are already registered, and it's
