March 20, 2018 - An Elgin County man has been fined $2,000 for a hunting offence.
Jeffrey Marr of Straffordville pleaded guilty and was fined $2,000 for hunting white-tailed
deer without a licence.
Court heard that on December 29, 2017, Marr was hunting in Straffordville, Elgin
County, with archery equipment and shot a white-tailed deer. Conservation officers
received a photo showing Marr with a deer that was killed. An investigation revealed
that Marr killed the deer without a licence. The deer meat was seized during the
Justice of the Peace Paul Langlois heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice,
St. Thomas, on March 8, 2018.
