I don’t usually do this because being a public employee for 33yrs, and I have a
lot of respect for the folks who run for council. However! I submitted a problem
with documents and pictures to Central Elgin addressed to our ward one representative
back on May 17th of this year. On May 25th, I had a return letter from the deputy
clerk advising that the submission I had sent was forwarded to the appropriate departments
and they were to respond in a timely manner. Now I am sure my representative read
this and as I would expect did pass it on to the appropriate departments, I would
expect no less. As the writing of this letter I have not been contacted by any departments.
This is not acceptable and what is even more unacceptable is my elected representative
has never spoken to me in person or by any form of contact. I would expect at least
a follow up to make sure this problem was addressed. We all know who the representative
is for ward one, as we see all the time as he speaks out in many venues. I would
ask, when it comes voting time, is this what you would want your representative
to be. I guess not giving any consideration to your constituents has filtered down
to all levels of government, even local politics.
