In the interest of locals and beyond who are interested in history, Mayor David
Marr has chosen not to have a memorial bust of the famous nurse placed in the Why
Not Park for the 100th anniversary this year in October of her execution
This was to be a donation to the park, placed in a location for all to enjoy, by
the donors. His reasons: Prespa would perhaps find it difficult to work around;
secondly it is not uniform to the plaques presently up and unlikely to look like
the ones to be put up in the future.
We will have to live with that decision, just like we will have to live with the
sterile conservative pier. No fishing.
We wanted to share a day with your relative Bob Lowe, who had the same sentimental
feelings, as we help him deliver the Windsor Star down the end of Edith Cavell Blvd. and
toast Edith Cavell in Why Not Park.

The 100th Anniversary of her execution is Monday, 12 October this year
