There were some long faces in the Lower Level meeting room of Central Elgin on Monday
night, October 27, 2014 as the election results were posted, but even though I didn't win the Ward 1 seat, mine wasn't one
This election was clearly about whether voters wanted to keep the same kind of government-by-special
interest they'd always had, or whether they were ready for a more fair and equitable
change. The results came out strong and solid that the electorate wants to keep
what they've had.
So that's what you've got, at least for another four years. If down the road a piece
you find someone else's special interest trumps yours in a council decision, suck
it up - you got exactly what you asked for.
