WPS Pedestrian Struck In Early Morning Accident

Friday, December 27, 2019 - The Woodstock Police Service were called to the scene of an accident involving a pedestrian earlier this morning.

At approximately 06:52 a.m., the Woodstock Police Service uniform patrol responded to a report of an accident involving a female pedestrian at the intersection of Dundas Street and Beale Street in the City of Woodstock.

Investigation revealed that a 42 year old Woodstock female was walking west on Dundas Street when she was struck by a west bound car. Oxford EMS attended and transported the female with non-life threatening injuries.

Sergeant Josh Coates of the Woodstock Police Service would like to remind pedestrians to stay alert to their surroundings, wear reflective clothing, and use sidewalks when they are available. If sidewalks are not available, pedestrians should walk closest to the curb and walk in the opposite direction of traffic so you can see approaching vehicles. Drivers are reminded to always be alert and aware of your surroundings.

Charges have not been laid at this time.

The WOODSTOCK POLICE SERVICE would like to encourage anyone having information about this investigation or any other investigations, to contact the WOODSTOCK POLICE SERVICE at 519-537-2323 or Crime Stoppers 421-TIPS (8477) or toll free at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
