Wednesday, April 24, 2019 - Woodstock Police Service had investigated 243 motor
vehicle collisions for the period of January 1, 2019 to March 31, 2019. This total
represents a 5% increase for the same reported period in 2018.
Of those reported collisions 23 resulted in an injury with alcohol a factor in 2.
"The Woodstock Police Service strongly believes that through continued education
and enforcement practices the number of motor vehicle collisions can be reduced
especially where alcohol is involved. The public has an obligation to its community
that alcohol has no place in the operation of a motor vehicle, two collisions is
too many." – Deputy Chief Darren Sweazey.
