Weapons

May 3rd, 2019 - A nineteen year old male is in custody after firing four rounds from a pistol into his bedroom wall yesterday afternoon. The man is alleged to have been intoxicated when he had an argument with his twenty seven year old brother inside the family residence then went to his room and shot the gun. Police received a 911 call from the brother around 4 pm and officers surrounded the address located in the south east section of the city. The accused was arrested without incident as he attempted to leave the residence on his bicycle. A warrant to search the house was secured by police and the gun was seized. The nineteen year old is now charged with one count Careless Use of a Firearm, one count Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and one count Discharge Firearm in a Reckless Manner. He was held at the Colin McGregor Justice Building for court. The two brothers were the only ones home at the time of the incident. No injuries were reported. The accused was in legal possession of the restricted weapon at the time of the incident. The pistol and a pellet gun were the only two weapons located and seized during the search.
