August 15th, 2019 - St. Thomas Police were kept busy executing several warrants over the last 24 hours.

A 39 year old Toronto man attended the St. Thomas police station to deal with a warrant issued by our service for breaching a court order in July. He was taken into custody without incident.

At approximately 8:30 am. an officer patrolling Talbot St. spotted a 44 year old St. Thomas man wanted on several warrants. The man was taken into custody and held for court.

An hour later an officer on patrol observed a male known to have an outstanding warrant in the area of Talbot and Inkerman St. The male managed to flee the area on a bicycle before he could be apprehended. Later that evening the male was located in the area Princess Ave. and Elizabeth St. Another attempt to flee was unsuccessful. The 45 year old was arrested and transported to the police station where he was held for court.

Police in Woodstock contacted St. Thomas Police after they arrested a woman wanted in connection to a shoplifting and escape custody incident that occurred in February of 2018. Officers traveled to Woodstock and took custody of 39 year old Crystal Robbins and returned her St. Thomas. She was subsequently released with a future court date.

Later that afternoon police were called to a restaurant on Talbot St. after citizens reported a man panhandling customers. Police located the 30 year old man who had an outstanding arrest warrant. He was arrested without incident and held overnight for a court appearance in the morning.

At approximately 7:20 pm. a 44 year old man attended the police station to speak to an officer on an unrelated matter. The officer determined the man had an outstanding warrant and he was subsequently arrested.

Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges For St. Thomas Man

At approximately 6:45 pm. members of the Street Crimes Unit and Uniformed Patrol conducted a traffic stop on Ron McNeil Line. As a result of the investigation 30 year old Quinton Honsinger of St. Thomas has been charged with with 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl), 1 count of possession of a Controlled Substance (Crystal Methamphetamine) and 3 counts of Possession of Stolen Property. Honsinger was also wanted on outstanding warrants. He was arrested and held for court.

Erratic Driver Nabbed In Stolen Vehicle

At approximately 7:30 pm police were called after a motor vehicle struck a hydro pole at Elm and Wood Streets. Police had received complaints about an aggressive driver in the area moments before the accident. The driver had left the scene on foot but was apprehended by responding officers a short distance away. Investigation revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen from a St. Thomas residence earlier in the day. The vehicle was also involved in a gas theft in the Town of Aylmer, prior to the accident. 36 year old James Brown of St. Thomas has been charged with several offences including Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Fail to Remain, Drive While Under Suspension x 3, Breach of Probation and two Highway Traffic Offences. Brown was held pending a court appearance.
