Warrant

May 1st, 2019 - A twenty nine year old St. Thomas man wanted on a warrant turned himself in at the Colin McGregor Justice Building yesterday morning around 7:30 am. The man was wanted for failing to report to the John Howard Society Bail Supervision Program immediately upon his release from the court. The man was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Elgin County Court House for an appearance.

Breach

A seventy six year old man living in Central Elgin was arrested yesterday afternoon around 2:30 pm after employees at a car dealership observed the male allegedly lighting fires underneath vehicles for sale parked on the lot. Police arrived and took the man into custody without incident. Officers discovered the male was at large in the community released on court orders not to possess any flammable or incendiary device and not to have any contact with the Ford Motor Company or any of it’s dealerships. The man was charged two counts of Breach of Court Order and later released on a Promise to Appear in Court.

Warrant

A thirty year old St. Thomas woman wanted on a warrant was arrested by London Police yesterday evening. London Officers were dealing with the woman on an unrelated matter when they discovered the warrant. The warrant stems from an incident back in 2017 where the woman was charged with Possession of Stolen Property. She was taken into custody and held until STPS could attend and transport her back to the city. The woman was held at the Colin McGregor Justice Building overnight for court.

Officer Assaulted

A nineteen year old St. Thomas woman was arrested last evening around 6:30 pm after she refused to leave a Hughes Street residence. Police were called by the homeowner asking for assistance removing the intoxicated female who had become belligerent. When Officers arrived the female still refused to leave and became combative when police attempted to remove her. The woman kicked, punched and bit at the officers as she was arrested. As a result she is now charged one count Resist Arrest and one count Assault Police. The woman was held at the Colin McGregor Justice Building until sober and released on a Promise to Appear in court. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Arrest

A forty two year old London man was arrested last night around 11 pm after officers observed him walking down St. Catharine Street. Officers recognized the man as currently being released on court orders to abide by a nightly curfew to be inside his residence in London. The man was taken into custody without incident and held in custody at the Colin McGregor Justice Building for court.
