May 6th, 2019 - A twenty four year old Sarnia man was arrested Friday night around 9:30 pm after
he turned himself in at the Colin McGregor Justice Building. The man was wanted
for one count of Assault following an incident that happened in St. Thomas back
in March where he is alleged to have assaulted his thirty two year old girlfriend.
The man was processed and later released on a Promise to Appear in Court.
A twenty nine year old male was arrested Saturday morning after police were called
to the residence of his ex wife. The woman awoke to discover her former husband
sitting in her kitchen. A verbal argument escalated and the man is alleged to have
thrown coffee on the woman. As a result the man is charged on count Break and Enter,
one count Assault and two counts Breach of Release. The man was at large in the
community on court ordered conditions not to communicate with his ex wife or attend
her residence. The man was held in custody at the Colin McGregor Justice Building
for court. No injuries were reported.
Break and Enter
Thirty five year old Christopher Gaudio of St. Thomas was arrested Sunday morning
and charged with one count Break and Enter. Police were called to a High Street
residence around 10:30 am to remove Gaudio as an unwanted party when they observed
several items of stolen property in the room he was staying in. The property been
reported stolen from a shed on Phillip Street during a break and enter the night
before. The owner reported the shed was secure and the locks had been cut. Police
seized a drone, motorcycle helmet, welding helmet, cutting torches and several small
tools. The items were returned to the owner. Gaudio’s thirty three year old girlfriend
was also arrested and charged one count Obstruct Police after repeatedly interfering
with Officers attempts to take Gaudio into custody without incident. The pair were
later released on a Promise to Appear in Court.
Fail to Remain
Police are looking for a forty year old St. Thomas woman after she fled the scene
of a collision last night around 8 pm. The woman was driving on Elmina Street when
she rear ended another vehicle making a left hand turn onto Churchill Crescent.
The two drivers had a brief verbal exchange when the accused grabbed her purse,
car keys and left the scene of the collision on foot. Police were unable to locate
and arrest her at the time of the offence however her identity is known and she
is now charged one count Fail to Remain at the Scene of a Collision and one count
Careless Driving. She will be summonsed to court to answer to the charges. No injuries
