Turned Himself In

May 15th, 2019 - A thirty nine year old Hamilton man wanted on a warrant turned himself in at the Colin McGregor Justice Building Monday morning around 9 am. The warrant was issued after an incident back in the summer of 2018 where the man was charged with one count Possession of Stolen Property. He was processed and released on a Promise to Appear in Court.

Impaired Operation

A fifty year old St. Thomas woman was arrested Monday night around 9 pm after an alert citizen called in a possible impaired driver. Police were able to locate the suspect vehicle and conduct a traffic stop on Sunset Drive near Wilson Ave. Officers detected obvious signs of impairment from the driver and located two bottles of suspected premixed bottles of vodka and cranberry juice the woman had been drinking from in her purse and in the console of the vehicle. The driver was arrested and transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building where breath samples taken indicate she had three times the legal limit of alcohol in her system. The driver was charged with one count Operation While Impaired-Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and fined for Driving a Motor Vehicle with Alcohol Readily Available contrary to the Liquor Licence Act. She was later released on a Promise to Appear in Court.
