March 2nd, 2019 - On Friday March 1, 2019 in the late afternoon The St. Thomas Police
received a 911 call from a residence in the south end of the city. The residents
reported an unknown male was attempting to gain entry to their residence and was
damaging property. Police attended the residence and the male had fled. Police set
up a perimeter and ended up locating the male fleeing in a field. The intoxicated
male was caught and arrested by officers. Subsequently a 21 year old St. Thomas
male was charged with mischief and two counts of uttering threats. The male was
taken to the police station where he was later released with future court date.
The residents were not injured as a result of this incident.
On Saturday March 2, 2019 in the early morning hours the St. Thomas Police were
called to a local bar for a male refusing to leave. Police located an intoxicated
30 year old male. Further investigation revealed that the male was on conditions
not to consume alcohol. The male was arrested and transported to the station and
was eventually released with a future court date.
Also in the early morning hours of March 2, 2019, a St. Thomas Police officer noticed
a motor vehicle that was travelling at high rates of speed in the city. The officer
conducted a traffic stop and made observations that led to the arrest of the 23
year old male driver for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The male was transported
to the police station for further testing and was subsequently charged with impaired
operation of a motor vehicle and having more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100
milliliters of blood. He was released with a future court date.
While one officer was investigating the first impaired driver a second St. Thomas
Police officer was on the way to assist. While en route to the first location the
officer was almost struck by a motor vehicle. As a result the officer conducted
a traffic stop and the 56 year old male driver was also arrested for impaired operation
of a motor vehicle. He was transported to the station for further testing and was
also charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and having more than 80
milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood. He was released with a future
