May 25th 2019 - On the 24th day of May 2019 just after 4 PM the St. Thomas Police
Service was contacted regarding a domestic dispute at an apartment in the downtown
core. Officers arrived and spoke to a 19 year old female who was intoxicated. The
female is on conditions not to consume alcohol. As a result officers attempted to
arrest the female and she resisted, kicking one of the officers in the stomach.
The female was taken into custody after a short struggle and charged with breach
of conditions, assault police, resist arrest and uttering threats. She was held
in custody for a court appearance this morning.
On the 24th day of May 2019 just after 7 PM officers attended a department store
for a report of a trespasser by loss prevention. Officers attended and located a
25 year old St. Thomas man who was banned from the store as well there was existing
grounds for his arrest for theft under $5000. The male was arrested and transported
to Police Headquarters where he was released on a future court date.
Failing To Attended Court
On the 24th day of May 2019 a 35 year old St. Thomas man turned himself into our
service as he was wanted for failing to attended court. It was later learned the
male was also wanted by Elgin County OPP. The male was released from custody and
turned over to OPP.
The St. Thomas Police Service continue to have several car entries throughout the
entire city. We are encouraging citizens to lock their vehicles and take valuables
into their residence.
