Elgin County, ON - The Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to
remind the motoring public that consuming alcohol is still a concern and a real
threat to public safety on our roadways.
Around 12:00 a.m. on April 28, 2019 officers stopped an all-terrain vehicle in Dutton,
Ontario on Aberdeen Line. The driver registered a warn range on the Approved Screening
About one hour later at 1:05 a.m. on April 28, 2019 officers stopped a motor vehicle
on Lakeshore Line in Bayham, Ontario. The driver of that vehicle also registered
a warn range on the Approved Screening Device.
Over the Easter long weekend Elgin County OPP officers also arrested and charged
4 drivers with being impaired by alcohol.
The summer months are fast approaching and the motoring public need to use good
judgment when it comes to substances and driving.

- call friends or family to come pick you up
- use a ride share app
- don't use drugs or alcohol when driving
- stay overnight
