OPP - Human Remains Found East Of Port Burwell Update Arrest Made

Elgin County, ON - On May 9, 2019, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Elgin County Detachment arrested Samuel WATERS, 22-years-old, of Norfolk County in connection to the found remains.

The accused was charged with Indignity to human remains contrary to section 182(b) of the Criminal Code and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on May 15, 2019.

Elgin County OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) is continuing this investigation.

OPP - Human Remains Found East Of Port Burwell

Elgin County, ON - On May 6, 2019, the Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an area east of Port Burwell, Ontario where it was reported that human remains were found.

Members of the OPP Elgin County Crime Unit, and Forensic Identification Services, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) continue this investigation in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner. As a result of the ongoing investigation there will be an increase in police presence in the area.
