"A duet of new works: "Quebec Cowboy" and "The Birds and The Bees" in free public readings are included as part of PSFT’s
new expanded Playwright’s Festival."
The Port Stanley Festival Theatre is pleased to be holding its fourth annual Playwright’s Festival on Friday September 25th
and Saturday September 26th with public readings of both "Quebec Cowboy" (Sept. 25th, 8PM), a new musical by Grant Tilly,
and "The Birds and The Bees"(Sept. 26th, 8PM), a new comedy by Mark Crawford.
Neither playwright is a stranger to the Port Stanley stage. Grant Tilly’s musical comedy "Bingo Ladies" received its hugely
successful world premiere in Port Stanley in 2014, and Mark Crawford’s "Stag and Doe" was one of PSFT’s most successful
comedies ever when it closed that same 2014 season.
Both plays will be presented as FREE public readings followed by a question/answer session with the playwright and invited
The Port Stanley Playwright’s Festival is part of the Port Stanley Festival Theatre’s new play development program, which
has in the past produced premiere productions of : "Not In My Backyard" in 2013, and "Bingo Ladies" in 2014.
Admission is free of charge with donations accepted at the door, but seats should be reserved at the box office in advance
as space is limited.
This special festival will be taking place during Artastic Elgin, where by the participating Elgin Arts Trail organizations
offer a variety of workshops, gallery events, art talks, specials, and interactive demos and tours for the public during
the two day interactive event. Visitors touring Artastic Elgin businesses are able to see behind the scenes as ideas came
