Nancy and Frank Prothero have just released their latest book, "A Majority of One:
The Life and Times of Olive Evans".
The book focuses on the life of Olive Evans, a Port Stanley girl who became one
of the founders of modern radio in the 1920s and 1930s. The number of books written
and published by Nan-Sea Publications is now over 25 and sales exceed thirty-thousand
The Port Stanley authors, who have resided on Mitchell Heights for the past 50 years
have written extensively on Great Lakes, regional and local history.
Their newest release will be available in Port Stanley Foodland immediately and
in other outlets in the near future.
Nancy and Frank released their first book, "The Good Years", in 1973 and readily
admit that the publishing industry has undergone great changes since then. "We usually
printed at least two thousand copies of each new book," Nancy stated. "We always
sold out but the market is not what it once was. We now focus on specific topics
that will appeal to a smaller audience. it is still a matter of keeping our heritage
alive and from promoting commercial fishing to celebrating our Stork Club, Mackies,
the L&PS and many other themes, we do our best to explain to anyone who will listen
