To whom it may concern,
My name is Sara. This morning one of our horses fell on the ice and could not get
up. After trying absolutely everything we could, I caved and dialed 911. I spoke
to a very kind and calm woman on the phone for a moment who said that she would
call the fire department to see if they could help us and she would call me right
back. While waiting for her call, we heard the rumble of engines and what seemed
like an army of farmers, firefighters and family members piled into our driveway
and down the road. I could not keep count of how many people showed up to help us.
It was a truly overwhelming display of humanity, kindness and community.
I am sorry to say that our old boy did not make it. But we are so very grateful
to every single person that showed up to help our family.
My parents moved to Sparta 3 years ago and my family and I just moved to Union in
October and I have to say that we are so proud and grateful to be a part of this
community. I am hoping there is some way you can help us thank these wonderful people,
who I am assuming are mostly volunteers.
Thank you for your time,
Sara and the Hennessy Family
