May 31st, 2019 - A thirty five year old St. Thomas man was administered two rounds
of Narcan by Officers Wednesday evening around 5 pm after the male went into medical
distress on Scott Street. Police had originally received a report from a concerned
citizen who had observed two men stumbling down the street and believed they may
be intoxicated. When officers arrived one male was unconscious and laying on the
ground the other advised he had recently consumed Fentanyl. The male regained consciousness
after the Narcan was administered. He was transported to St. Thomas-Elgin General
Hospital by paramedics as a precaution.
A thirty five year old St. Thomas woman already in custody is facing additional
charges after she carved her initials in to the wall of her holding cell. The woman
was brought to the Elgin County Court House from the Elgin-Middlesex Detention Centre
by the prisoner escort for an appearance yesterday. The woman caused approximately
two hundred and twenty five dollars worth of damage while being held. She was charged
one count Mischief Under $5000 and transported back to EMDC.
A thirty seven year old St. Thomas man was arrested yesterday afternoon around 2
pm after trying to run away from Loss Prevention Officers at Walmart. The man was
observed shoplifting in the store and took off as he was approached by store security.
The man ran into the path of an off duty police officer standing in the parking
lot and was taken into custody without incident. On duty Officers attended the location
and charged the man with one count Theft Under $5000. He was later released on an
Appearance Notice for court.
A seventy three year old St. Thomas man was arrested yesterday afternoon around
4 pm during a traffic stop on Wellington Street. Officers issued the driver a roadside
screening test for alcohol and he registered a fail. He taken into custody and brought
to the Colin McGregor Justice Building for processing. He is now charged one count
Operation While Impaired-Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus.
A forty six year old West Lorne man wanted on a warrant by St. Thomas Police was
arrested in London last night just before midnight. Officers from the London Police
Service were dealing with the male on an unrelated matter when they discovered he
was wanted. The man was taken into custody without incident and held at the London
Police Headquarters until St. Thomas Officers could attend. He was Processed and
released by STPS on a Promise to Appear in Court next month. The warrant stems from
an incident back in April where the man was recorded on security video in the company
of a female that he is currently bound by a court order not to associate or communicate
with. As a result he was wanted for three counts Breach of Release Conditions.
A twenty nine year old St. Thomas man was arrested early this morning around 2 am
after Officers observed a suspicious male walking on Wellington Road. The man was
taken into custody after police discovered he was breaching his release conditions
by being in possession of a lighter. The man is currently at large in the community
on a court order not to possess any incendiary devices. The man was taken into custody
without incident, charged two counts Breach of Release Conditions and later released
on a Promise to Appear in Court.
